    Band of the Black Hand utilizes the EPGP loot system. (Earned Points, Gear Points) Details of this system can be found here. The short and dirty version is you raid, you gain EP, you loot you gain GP. Your loot priority (PR) is your EP / GP.

    EPGP was selected because it provides a system which lets you take what you contribute. The more you put in, the more you consistently raid, the more EP you will earn, and thus the more GP you can afford to buy. EPGP is also very fair in it's assessment of item values, and uses a fair and balanced calculation based off item level, slot and a weighted system to ensure all slots are valued appropriately.

    We will use the following values:
    Code:
    -EPGP-
    @BASE_GP:250
    @DECAY_P:25
    @MIN_EP:1000
    @EXTRAS_P:100
    -EPGP-

    Base_GP
    is the lowest your GP will ever get, having this set to anything other than zero stops first time or idle players from having infinite PR. Base_GP was set @ 250 in order to facilitate a reasonable rate of decay and a balanced impact on PR for new raiders.

    Decay will be applied weekly, decay will reduce both EP and GP by 25%. This means if you loot an item today that costs 500GP, in 12 weeks you will be back at Base_GP. This is because decay works off Base_GP + Real_GP, but will never reduce your GP below Base_GP. At 25% decay you will cap your EP in approximately 12 weeks, giving us a nice 90 day attendance metric. Using these numbers your EP will cap in about 12 weeks, and if you were to stop raiding for 12 weeks you would return around 3000EP.

    Min_EP is the lowest your EP can be and still be considered as a priority for loot. If your EP is below 1000, it means that all other players with an EP over 1000 will loot before you, despite your priority. We will be seeding the system @ 1000 EP, so assuming you show up to raid late, kill one boss and leave early at least once a month you will never fall below this.

    Extras_P is the a percentage of EP players get while on standby (or "extra").

    Earning EP
    EP will be earned for the following:
    • 1000 EP On Time to Raid (In raid & zone and ready to rock @ 7:30pm)
    • 1000 EP Raid Complete (Staying until the raid leader determines raid has ended. This is normally 10pm but may sometimes be earlier, or slightly later.)
    • 1000 EP Boss Kill of any boss.
    • 1000 EP Wipe on a progression boss. Progression will be determined by alliance leadership at the end of each week. At the time of this writing Festergut is progression, Saurfang is not.
    • 50% Bonus will be applied to any "non trivial" boss that is 1-shot and well executed. This is at the alliance leaders discretion. As of this writing killing Saurfang in 1 shot would qualify, however killing Saurfang in one shot with 8 marks and 10 players left alive would not.
    Note: Bonus eligible bosses will be determined at the start of each raiding week, and bonus's will be rewarded for exceptional success on these bosses. A sloppy one shot doesn't mean we get a bonus.

    Losing EP
    The only way to lose EP at this point is through decay. Everyone should be aware however that this can be utilized as a negative reinforcement tool if necessary. Minus fifty fucking Eee Pee Gee Pee will have meaning if necessary.

    Earning GP
    By taking loot from raid you will earn GP. GP is determined by a very in depth analysis of gear and automatically assigned by the addon. Details here.

    Offspec items will cost 1GP each. This is so the addon will track them and they will show in the website log.

    Losing GP
    The only way to lose GP is through decay. Gifts of large quantities of gold, real money and other valuables will be accepted, but will not in any way effect your GP.

    Alts and Mains, How does this Work?
    Each player has a single EPGP pool. Alts earn EP for mains, however alts only earn GP at the rate of 1 GP per item looted. As they are a lower priority than mains the loot is charged the same as offspec.
