    About Band of the Black Hand
    Band of the Black Hand is a veteran guild on Blackhand|Horde; we are a social guild with a solid raiding force, while our social members enjoy much flexibility to their schedule our raiding members adhere to raid attendance and performance standards. Our mission is to defeat raiding content without burning out on the game. We are always looking to improve our guild and ourselves individually however we can.

    We run our guild professionally, and objectively in order to put the best team forward to down bosses each night. If you're someone who does whatever it takes to get those bosses down, but isn't worried about world and server firsts, then Band of the Black Hand is for you.

    Gear Requirements
    With 3.3 now released, applicants will be expected to have:

    -Adequate gear for our content.
    -Proper Enchants
    -Proper Gems

    Willingness and desire to learn and improve every raid.
    You may wonder, what exactly does this mean? Here are some things, (though certainly not all), that should be considered in this category:
    • Ability to learn from mistakes, both your own and other player's mistakes. A good player should be able to recognize and adapt to any mistakes made during the raids. Once Player A, makes mistake X, ideally no player should make mistake X ever again.
    • Ability to comprehend and understand game mechanics. This includes not only class mechanics, but also boss, and trash mob mechanics. Furthermore, players should not have to be told repeatedly how things work.
    • Ability to recognize how you played during a raid. Do you know if you played well, or if you played poorly? Do you know why you did? Players who cannot tell the difference have a very hard time improving.
    • Ability to take criticism and adjust accordingly in a positive manner. Also, the understanding that any criticism that is handed out is meant to help you improve and play better with the team to achieve our goals.
    • Willingness and eagerness to try new things. This includes the desire to try a different piece of gear or different consumables on some fight, or try a different spec for better performance.
    • Willingness to do whatever it takes to get what your character needs to perform at your best possible level. Yes, it may very well be boring and annoying to farm reputation for some faction, or you might hate pvp more than anything, but if there is an item that would make your character better in raids, it is worth it. "But there's an item from a boss we can kill" really is no excuse for not trying to get anything you can. After all, there is no guarantee that bosses will drop the items you need.
    Current Raiding Schedule
    Band of the Black Hand currently raids 7-10pm Blackhand server time (Central time). We raid Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays, with non progression (10 man, Previous Content Patch, etc) content on Wednesday and Friday nights.

    Recruitment Policy
    Accepted applicants to Band of the Black Hand will receive a trial period in which apps will raid with the guild during our normal raids. Apps are expected to be ready to attend any raid just like any other member. We will test your skills not only in our farming content raids, but also during progression nights. Trial periods will last 90 days while we evaluate how well you fit with our style of raiding. Gaining a Trial period does not guarantee you a spot in our guild. If you do not perform well, can't get along with members, or have some other issues, you will not make it into the guild. This policy applies to cross-server applicants as well. Apps from other servers will have to transfer to Blackhand and try out just like every other app.

    Once our officers feel you have adequately demonstrated your skills, you will become a full member of Band of the Black Hand, and gain all the privileges of any guild member.

    Please allow time for us to review your application (At least 1 week). We will reply to your application via your application thread on this website. We will not track you down in game, so be sure to come back and check your status.
    Samarri is the main person dealing with applications. If you have any questions regarding our policies or your application you may ask him.

  • Pro Tip!

    Raiding is all about being able to execute what your raid leader asks you to do. If you cannot follow directions well you quickly become a liability to a raid. Our application process is designed to gather information about you as a player, and to demonstrate your ability to read and follow directions.

    You can skip straight to the application form, but don't blame us when you miss something important.

  • Discrimination?

    Here at Band of the Black Hand we try and keep an open mind to just about anything. That said, we do discriminate against our recruits. If you do not conduct yourself as an adult we don't wish to associate with you. History has proven time and again that players under the age of 18 generally do not behave as we desire. Exceptions always exist, however it will require references from existing members for us to consider your application.
