SW:TORAfter years of playing WoW we have decided to move to SW:TOR as our new stomping grounds. The guild is pre-registered and will be formed upon launch. If you have pre-ordered you can sign up for the guild and be automatically invited when the game goes live!

Band of the Black Hand was founded in 1996 during Beta 4 of Everquest. The group of founding members were all veteran MMORPG gamers, having spent nearly a year playing Ultima Online on the Baja shard.

While playing Everquest we dabbled in nearly every other MMO that released, making the jump as a whole to World of Warcraft before its release in late 2004. World of Warcraft served as our home and where we had our most significant presence to date with over 200 members on our roster.

In late 2011 the guild made the formal decision to shut down operations in World of Warcraft and are formalizing our plans to step into the Star Wars universe again when Star Wars: The Old Republic launches in December 2011.

Our members are a more mature crowd who takes gaming seriously, but recognizes that real life will always come first. With this in mind if you are looking for a solid group of players who want to play hard when they play, but don't demand you make the game a second job feel free to apply.

According to Ars Technica the world would have been better off waiting forever for Duke Nukem to release their next title... This I find disappointing, not only did GearBox take the biggest piece of VaporWear ever and release it, they took one of the greatest franchises ever and destroyed it's memory.

I'll probably still buy the damn thing, but not for $60... I'll wait until it hits the $10 bin at Wally World!

Update: So it's been around the block, reviewers are universally bashing it, and a few of my friends have given it rave "Duke Worthy" reviews. (One of my "Duke Worthy" reviews comes from a friend who I used to LAN party with in Kansas, he was a regular author of the comic strip Monochrome when I ran OGCAN.COM and has since gone on to become a game developer himself, he has several titles under his belt, but unless you are a 7-12 year old girl you aren't likely to know them.)

Anyone Scott Jennings (of Lum the Mad fame) has this post which doesn't really say anything about the game, rather the reason games like this get such horrid reviews.
